[BC] Snow.blizzard fading?

Could there be some static involved in the blizzard condition? Rather than fade might there be other noise being heard?

Just a passing thought, and probably not worth much.

I am amazed at the differences in AM reception conditions even during the day for somewhat distant stations. Around here (MN/IA border right at the middle of the state line) WCCO is virtually always great, but WHO varies a lot. KFAN from the Twin Cities comes in much better some days than others. And wow, does WNAX ever boom in here, virtually all the time. Amazing.

Nighttime I can hardly listen to either WCCO or WHO due to selective fading. Nighttime "nearby" AM is kind of a wasteland here, but of course after dark there are lots of other options :-)

Might it have had something to do with KJLT 970 (5KW-D, 55W-N) which is less than 3 miles north of I-80 and 5 mi. W. of North Platte? Possibly, possibly not. I will have to see if I can catch this happening sometime. Would be interesting to see if rain causes the same thing.
