FWIW, Mexican border area stations have maintained their power, or
have significantly reduced their power, with one exception.
Mexicans within the interior haven:t changed their power at all,
except for those increases which were specifically provided for by
*Rio*.
There is no way that the U.S. is going to allow increased power for
the former U.S. I-As, although we are certainly allowed to do so.
An increase to 100 kW days, but the usual, and required 50 kW at
night seems reasonable, but only for those stations which operate ND
during days.
That idea would eliminate any increase for KGO, WWL, WBZ and WWKB, as
these are DA-1, but would allow for increases for many other major
market I-As and several major market I-Bs.
The bottom line is this ... there is no relief in sight for small or
even medium market stations, period.
These had better go to FM or go to streaming, because AM is, and has
always been a *demand allocation* system, although it did not start
that way with the 1928 *Band Plan*.
But, it IS that way, now, and forever more.
Get used to it.
Game over!
