Unless something has changed in Phoenix in the last few months since I
was there, KSUN 1400 and KFYI (ex-KOY) 550 are *not* diplexed. KFYI is
just west of 36th Street south of Southern Ave, while KSUN is two blocks
east at the end of 38th Street, also just south of Southern.
The KFYI tower, ASRN 1007948, is 108 meters tall, 70 degrees at 550. KOY
moved there in 1967 after losing a much better site at 12th and
Camelback to development. (There's a car dealership there now.)
The KSUN tower, ASRN 1219664, is 129 meters tall, which is indeed 215
degrees at 1400. It has been there since at least 1965. I don't know why
it's as tall as it is - though apparently the 1400 facility, then known
as KXIV, was a pretty well-funded operation in the mid-sixties. Dick Van
Dyke was a co-owner.
