yeah, AM's are so profitable. The AM band is damn sure not a mess because it has too many 250 watt stations. It's mostly a mess because *most* every am receiver made in the last 30 years be it auto or home sounds like crap with maybe 50 cents of circuitry for the AM part of the radio.

The endless narrowcasting of competing clone corporations airing cloned programming over 50 KW blowtorches creates a hell of a lot more noise floor than any number of class C or D stations.
