Actually, counting Mexico and Canada (and Canada's all seem to be Class
C - 1 kW ND), the FCC database shows 181 stations, including
applications and CPs, between 1610 and 1700. Well, 181 records; some
are listed up to four times....
Divide by 2 for day/night; that's about 90 stations, or a bit less...
Canada has 1610, 1650, 1670, and 1690 as Class C.
BTW - the No New Class Ds?
NEW - in Puerto Rico, Ponce and/or Mayaguez - on 1660; 5 kW-D, 0.185 kW-N
Applications, but they've been accepted, or they wouldn't be in the
database, right?
Anyway, the Expanded Band in general would be a good place for AMLPs;
since the hardware is all off-the-shelf.
Powers up to 30 watts, anyway....
50 - 100 watt range may take some development....
