According to the original band plan, Class IVs were 100 watts. Class
IIIs were 1 kW max on certain regional channels and 5 kW max on other
regional channels. Class IIs were 10 kW max. Class Is were 10 kW
minimum, 50 kW maximum, but several Class Is did not operate with 50
kW until into the 1950s, and then only after DAs were installed.

One such Class IV, in Mojave, CA, remained 100 watts well into the
1960s.

Of course, we also had the 1230 and 1240 situation in LA and
Pasadena, respectively, whereby 1230 had to operate at 100 watts
whenever 1240 was operating, also at 100 watts.

KPPC 1240:s license was for all day Sunday and also for Wednesday
evenings. 1230, KGFJ, was 250 watts, L-KPPC, later 1000-U, after KPPC
was deleted.
