Power readings or transmitter logs are no longer required.
on EAS logs must be kept.
  now back onto transmitter readings
the only way to verify if your at the correct power would be antenna
base current readings.
I have a BE-AM6 A at one station thats licensed for 5kw
a base current at 10 amps...
when the base current is at 10 amps. The transmitter actually says
5500 Watts. Thats legal
I had an inspection, and thats what the FCC wanted to see the base
current meter.
At another station they inspected. It did not have a base current
meter, and he wanted to write it up as an NAL..
I came out of the transmitter building with an AMP meter J-Plug
and plugged it in. He was happy to see the correct readings.
