[BC] AM maintenance question

In the 1960s, WJR signed off for several hours early on a Monday morning 
about once a month for maintenance of the main transmitter (a CE 317).

When the maintenance was complete, we signed back on and broadcast about an 
hour of test audio from a good Ampex tape deck at the tx site, with minimal 
audio processing.

Some of that audio consisted of recordings of pipe organs, which generated a 
fairly large number of write-in responses from listeners in most of the U.S. 
and Canada -- many of which commented on the high quality of the received 
audio.

And that took place a long time before "The Digital Age."
