Also, the balls are supposed to be side-by-side, not one on top of the other. I've seen quite a few newer installations that disregard the 100-year history of radio.

The FCC might have an issue with me running a CEC 317C-3 on 1300 kHz on 
Snow Days instead of my Armstrong X1000B. :-)
