"Has anyone had experience with Digigram's Pyko units? They are sort of
like that Barix units but have balanced analog audio in/out and GPIO?
They do MP3 @192 and PCM Wave. Cost approx $600 each end."
I used one as an encoder. I selected them because of the ballanced
audio, etc. To get it to shoutcast up to the streaming provider, I
ended up having to install firmware from BARIX. It works, and works
fine, but somehow I feel that they need to at least get their own
firmware that will do everything the box should do in the first place.
The primary reason I tried them was the ballanced audio, however, I
was hoping to get away from the Barix sytle of configuration. Also, I
wanted to encode less that 56k. The Pyko techinally will do that, but
since I couldn't configure it to send to a shoutcast server, the point
was moot.
