[BC] Airwaves Abandoned by TV Could Beam High-Speed

The FCC's view is that they got the BW for free so they feel they can take it away. Since the FCC are such sports they offered to cut  the stations in on the sale of their bandwidth and then make the stations glorified public access stations. Local stations in smaller markets may just take the money and run.
 
If that happens there is no reason that the networks can't become plain old cable networks and  eliminate local affiliates. Look for this to happen sooner rather than later when the NBC / Comcast merger takes place. 
 
What is happening to radio is now happening to TV. If you are in either business it might be time to get into another business and avoid the rush.
