The revenooooooooooooooers always have a game up their sleeve. I received some mail a year or so back that stated that I needed to arrange for a visit from a firm that had been contracted to do revaluation of real estate. I responded that it would be an extremely cold day in hell before I would let and agency of the government into my abode without an order from a court. They took that as a challenge and reassessed my property at double the previous rate. I walked over to the tax accessor's office (1/4 mile away) with the document in-hand. He proclaimed, "They can't do that!" and I kept last rear's validation. Sometimes, you gotta put your foot down, even if it's on uneven ground.

Cheers,

Dale,
The State of Tennessee back in 2003 (I think that was the year) decided to tax cell towers because they were being built on private land, say like a farm, and the owner was getting paid free and clear without paying taxes.

The state then at the same time decided to throw broadcast towers in this too. I found out last year that the county was taxing me for a 70' tower that I took down in 1998, due to I was not using it. It was used for a RPU receiving antenna for the station that once was in my building. I quickly corrected them on it.
