I never called them "Nimrods" to their faces, and I was as kissy-kissy as I
could be when dealing with them. There is no excuse for the planner who'd
be in charge of the tower approval process to ignore phone calls from
days-on-end only to have an underling finally call me back with the pleasant
news that they had some areas they'd consider, but those areas were of no
use to us.

The state DOT was willing to deal but we had to justify use of their RofW as
benefiting the driving puglic.

Note that the nimrods were in Virginia Beach.

Norfolk was a pleasure to work with.

So Wayne, VB will allow just "any old tower" in much of the city if it is a
communications tower. There are quite a few of those things in the area.
Before you can use one for broadcasting you have to get a use permit. Is
that justifiable? I think not.

Referring to the Planning Commissioners as "Nimrods" may have something to
do with your lack of success in tower approval. A well prepared application

for a legal height tower in a properly zoned area of the community more than

likely will result in co-operation. All communities must make room for such

zoning use by State Law.
