One could argue that it is already obsolete.
It's DAB (using ancient MPEG LII codec) - and now there's DAB+ (using 
the current AAC+ codec).
"Classic DAB" doesn't have the spare bitrate for the nice extras like 
Slideshow and TPEG data like "DABplus".

There are enough non-upgradeable DAB receivers in the hands of UK 
consumers to make a transition to DAB+ an agonising choice.
