Hi Neal,
There are no stations yet nearby me in Tennessee or Kentucky
using a Valcom. I have looked into this due to our situation with the
City and the County.
Right now, I have a 150' Self Supporting tower, using a 3 wire
unipole. The bandwidth is great since I'm playing music. From what I
understand, WFYL is all talk, no music. We are a music station.
Valcom claims the top element the valcosphere helps some in the
bandwidth around the operating frequency.
I have a BE AM1A just like you do. My question is, how good does
music sound using a Valcom? It's it narrow-baned like down to 5 or 6
Khz or do you get a full 9.7 Khz of the high end?
Since there are no stations around here using on, I would love to
get an mp3 of a music sound check of an AM station using a Valcom.
Being my station is formatted Hot AC, bandwidth is important to me.
The Ford Car Radios have great bandwidth reception than Delco/GM Car
Radios. It would be interesting to hear current AC music with a
station using the Valcom antenna.
As far as signal coverage, I'm now convinced that they do as well
as a 1/4 wave tower, especially on my assigned frequency, 1560.
