Actually, XM uses AAC+ but I believe it's at a really low bit rate (32 kbps or
less) because of all the channels they have added.

I believe that Sirius uses the same codec that IBOC uses-some AT&T thing.

OF COURSE, XM and (RU) Sirius radio COULD sound good, but they limit  
the data rate to the point where they don't.

PLUS, they use inexpensive codecs that make the situation even worse.
