HD CAN sound about as good on digital as analog FM can sound-but only if you
use the full 96 kbps-add an HD2 and the quality goes to hell in a handbasket!
The only reason it even sounds better is because the IBOC isn't
pre-emphasized.

AM IBOC is just about USELESS! All that interference and narrow band telephone
like analog sound for a 32 kbps stream that sounds like CRAP!

So Chip, the sales of HD radios suck as it is. So your solution is to 
make yet another radio mutually incompatible to the present HD 
radios, and that will finally get the lazy a**ed consumer into the 
store to buy a radio?  When chickens grow lips.
