    Initially, maybe. But even so, there isn't nearly as much surface area
connectivity between the ground rod and the associated ground cable as with
cadweld. Further, even though the points where the copper pieces are pressed
tightly against each other and this constitutes a more or less "gas-tight"
(oxygen free) zone, it will probably corrode to a point of degradation, or
failure. Later, more likely than sooner though.

    This I fully agree with, having re-done a few of the clamps, and also
having had occasion to dig up old cadwelded joints which were as solid as
new  - at the connection point between the rod and ground cable, even though
all copper was "weathered".
