[BC] Phone Ringing Causes DSL Disconnection

I actually got to the website with such a long URL, thanks.

My ISP is pa.net and until a few weeks ago they used a
direct connection with Verizon for DSL service. Then, for
some reason, they started going through a third party who,
they claim, also uses a direct connection with
Verizon. They say there was no physical wiring change but
only a profile change to where my username and password
authenticate to but that's when I started having
problems. I know third parties are supposed to cooperate
with each other but in reality I've found it just doesn't
happen! The ISP is going to change my service back to
connecting directly with Verizon. Also, the ISP convinced
Verizon to do a thorough check of my line down to the NID
on Monday.

Another factor that enters into this problem is that about
two weeks after my problems began, I was having trouble
with my phone line and Verizon claimed that water got into
the line but it all had been corrected. Kind of makes me
wonder about that too.

Anyway, after Verizon comes on Monday I'm going to install
one of those filters right at the NID to separate the data
line from the phone line and see how it goes.

Thanks for all the replies.

Tom
