[BC] Failing XM Radio

The previous owner is on the same dock. He canceled his subscription
after the first year and disconnected the receiver from power. Owner
number two was going to activate the service and re-connected the
receiver only to find he had all the channels. I have cancelled the
service over the winter in the past and managed to get a few days out of
it in the spring until the signal from Sirius came around to turning my
service off. My guess is they only send the termination signal for a
fixed period of time and his was disconnected for a period longer than
that. Otherwise the original cancellation order was not processed
properly. Additionally, it is my findings that XM does not send the
termination signal via their terrestrial link so if you live in an area
with such links all you have to do is disconnect your satellite antenna
and the service will continue.
