McDonalds is maddeningly inconsistent on the Free Wifi.  Advertised, yes.  Working, No.  Probably half the sites I have checked had some issue, usually you could connect to the AP but not access the Internet.
 
Denny's and Friendly's have been fairly consistently working, althouygh some Friendly's are not equipped.
 
Denny's though has an attitude about you staying long.
 
Verizon's deal is pretty good and available at just about any Starbucks.
