[BC] Very quiet...

I was at a site near New Ulm, Minnesota on Monday night, where I have a crew building a 110' self-supporting tower. They had the tower assembled and ready to stack (no they decided not to pick the whole thing), and we were on the ground, crane in place, getting ready to fly some sections, since Tuesday was supposed to be a windy day.

As we conversed, to our surprise we heard the sound of a large "spark", and an immediate clap of thunder. The discharge was very near by, and bright. That of course put an end to the thoughts of stacking the tower that evening. From just about our location on eastward, there were thunderstorms with large hail, some attaining severe status, for a time. As I drove home while darkness fell, the electrical show in the distant storm clouds was amazing.

Interesting, scary, and of course, part of the deal in our business.

None of my transmitters were knocked off by the storms, though.
