Yes, because the RRN began operation before remote control was
authorized, an operator was stationed at each site and the buildings
had a small kitchen, bathroom and shower as well as a bunk room
upstairs in the attic.
While in college, I was contract engineer for the Wethersfield, NY
station (under CBN's ownership) and had to spend an overnight there
during a blizzard. Since the furnace was no longer in use, the bunk
had been moved downstairs behind the RCA BTF-10E where it was warmer,
but not exactly quiet.
