I wonder what they would have done if you'd let the place burn to the 
ground. Supposing the boss' line was busy. Did he expect you to wait? 
Would his secretary have put you through or asked you to call back 
later? I'm curious why this was considered insubordination. Was there 
a standing rule that you notify the boss before Police or Fire? 
Insubordination usually comes when you disobey company policy or show 
lack of respect for someone undeserving of respect.
