Absolutely no argument there. In many cases they're penalized for 
creative thinking. Out-of-the-box ideas often fail and 
they're  usually called on the carpet for that failure. That doesn't 
inspire one to try again.

Other than the matches being the same for lighting what little paper 
copy exists, today's digital systems don't allow all those tricks we 
prided ourselves on. Maybe stations should install the club DJ 
systems that allow repeated cuing of a phrase from a CD. Turntables 
are a piece of cake. Without advance preparation with digital one 
can't be spontaneous. Granted much of what we did would be classified 
as clutter but it was fun.

Like many of us who did shows when we were younger that let us be 
free we look back with fond memories. The shows were a reflection of 
us, good or bad. We pulled our own music and had to spend time off 
the air preparing our next show. That's when passion paid off.
