I, for one, would not relegate thusly. I've worked at stations where 
I had to do something in addition to engineering to hold down a full 
time job, so I've been an announcer, news reporter, sports reporter 
(even announced dirt-track stock car races), producer of a number of 
live and recorded programs, and even (briefly) an account exec. There 
are lots of jobs in a station that I have done and would not want to 
do full time. I respect the people who do them full time.
