42 here, raised primarily by grandparents.  This is where the
anachronistic and totally inappropriate worldview comes from, I
suppose.

I was ill-prepared in early childhood for the advent of the Nanny
State.  I'm too old for re-education, I suppose they'll have to shoot
me.
