Mike:

You misunderstood what I wrote. I believe the stations did a GREAT
job of warning people. I just don't believe the duck farts did much.

They did act responsibly and properly.

Larry:

This is more information than I had before.

Still, what you write adds to my concern about EAS.

Three stations did good, three station did nothing. This isn't good.

I rely on NOAA Weather Radio for my safety. I don't believe MOST
broadcasters will alert me, thus I have no broadcast EAS receivers.
If I believed in the system, I would have broadcast EAS receivers.

As I have written before, I have two WX receivers, on on the DC
transmitter, and one on the Manassas, VA transmitter of the Sterling,
VA center. They work.

Then again, I have been part of the Maryland and DC EAS systems, and
the Maryland system tests just failed. I just don't generally trust
broadcasters.

Larry, your stations did an exceptional job, but most don't.

I'm not sure I would give your system a thumbs up though, as 50% of
the stations did not relay your message. YOU did well, but the island
stations did not. 50% is not good.

Other than the state of Washington, I really don't know of any plan
that actually works. Thanks, Clay.

There may be others, but I am not aware of them. The DC system is
certainly totally not good, and the Maryland and Virginia systems are
failures.
