Sad, indeed. I know Jeremy will carry on.
I got to work with both Don and Jeremy atop the (former) Sears Tower in the
early 1990's. Don hired me to climb one of the towers atop the Sears Tower,
with all local transmitters OFF, to measure RF Radiation from the AUX
transmitters and antennas. We worked for 2 nights and 1 day up there.
I recall that I broke the Narda meter's Styrofoam probe and Don wasn't exactly
tickled about it. We carried on anyway with a drop of superglue.
I met Don in Memphis a few times; he consulted for Bott Broadcasting, and I had
overseen the construction of a new 2-tower DA-N array for WCRV, 640kHz, 50kW-D,
500 watts or so at night. Don checked our paperwork, checked the common-point
impedance, and we left for a drink at the Peabody Hotel.
Please inform us of the funeral or memorial service details.
