Well, I have been supervising tower work recently and will say this.  It 
costs a large amount of money to dismantle a tower unless it is 
something like a 45G.  Old towers take a lot of time to dismantle.  And 
the rigging company I deal with tells me that some of their customers 
insurance company do not want to insure old towers that have been 
dismantled and re-erected.  Easier and cheaper to use explosives or 
judicious use of a D8 tugging a guy cable.
