[BC] WBZ low power

I think WBZ has been running low power for at least a month. Does anyone know if they have technical problems or are just trying to save electricity. Also, have the rules been changed so that a station licensed for 50 kW can run low power on a more-or-less permanent basis?

For many rears I set WBZ on my alarm radio. I can no longer receive it in Groveland, about 35 air miles from WBZ's transmitter site, except on my truck radio, well below the noise. As a point of reference, WRKO and WEEI come in loud and clear. I'm thinking of resurrecting my Wilkinson Electronics FI meter!
