Satellite can work but YMMV.

I recommend using a UDP based protocol with as big a buffer in the decoder as
you can get away with.

You'll probably need a low bit rate codec like MPEG2 or AAC+

I'm running a 16 kbps 22 kHz AAC+ mono stream that is at least decent AM
quality, and a 64 kbps AAC+ stream is decent FM quality.

Anyone using a satellite internet service for program streaming in/out
to transmitter sites.

I have a client that will be feeding a number of sites with IP audio but
am finding that many have no DSL or cable service available.  I am not
having much luck locating local wireless service either.
