It is more BS. The acrobat READER READS the file and writes its content to the user's screen.
It CANNOT affect or infect.

I could tell you about a certain  company with an Irish-sounding name, that used to upload Virii to
my BBS system, just before they came out with a "fix,"  but I won't.

There IS a virus that exists in Adobe Acrobat programs, so you COULD have
gotten it from your secretary's computer. Do you have an AVS running on YOUR
computer? It should have caught it.
