monochrome printers we have."

We have about half a dozen of these as well, and they have outlasted 
quite a few more modern (read: all plastic innards) B&W laser 
jets.  If you max them out on RAM (they will take 64MB of plug-in 
RAM, with 2MB on the motherboard), they will take any print job you 
throw at them and just keep chugging along.
