[BC] Vista to XP UPgrade

I know this is a bit down the road and Vista is a piece o' #$%t in my
opinion. Please lets not argue Apple, Linux v M$oft. Lets accept that
what a really need to do for Many reasons, is perform the change from Vista
to XP (I consider it an upgrade). On a Compaq laptop shipped with
Vista, recently.

My research leads me to believe the first hurdle is SATA drivers, however
there is a method for ordering recovery discs from HP. Primarily it appears
that
the computer in question should have originally shipped with the desired
(XP) OS. But there must be a way and I'm guessing someone on this list
knows a method to convince HP that it would be a good thing.

This is a lowend (less than $400 Presario shipped with Vista Home Deluxe 64
bit.

Upgrading to Win 7 is not an option in this case. Oh yeah, the shipped OS is
64 bit want to convert back to 32 bit (in case the problem was too simple).
