The 9000 and the 9100's are both lovely sounding audio processors,
especially when they have been rechipped, recapped, realigned, and set
up properly. Personally I prefer to work with the 9100 since it's
easier to adjust and sounds competent, but a refurbished 9000 sounds
gorgeous when set up properly. Bill loves working on the 9000's.

However, I do think $1500 is a little too rich, especially if it's a
9000 in need of refurbishing.

As Chris said,  there is a retro fit card for the 9000 to make it NRSC
compliant, RET-44 aka card 1.

Tom, this is not necessarily true. We still have some SAD1024's
available for repairs, but they aren't cheap. We're constantly
searching for these chips and other unobtainable parts. We're
currently working on finding a slightly more modern replacement. We
may have a found a acceptable replacement, but we still have some more
testing to do....
