The 9000 is Louder with the "Disco Mod" in it, but it is illegal (So 
is the 9100A) without the NRSC Mod.

No. You can do the same things and MUCH MORE with the 9200 and above. 
I run a 9200 on WQIZ, and want to replace my CRL AM-4 system with a 
9300 at WCKI.

Now the 9000A would make KILLER processor for the 75 meter AM Window 
in the Ham Bands, but for $1500 Bucks, you can pick up a used 9200.
