[BC] Re: FM Translator Co-location question

In most of the cases I've seen, the translator's power is low enough
that the IM generated in the "full power" station's transmitter from
the backfed translator signal will meet FCC specs without additional
filtering. The bigger problem is usually in the other direction, but
of course it all depends on the vertical spacing between antennas and
their elevation patterns.

This situation would be quite similar to an FM IBOC station with
"space combining", except that the lower powered (digital) signals are
first-adjacent, rather than second-adjacent, to the high power.
Under the current -20 dB digital power rule, most of these facilities
meet specs, but may have problems if the proposed power boost is
approved.
