My mother in so cal has FIOS, she can't stand the phone service. The
new box installed to interface with her indoor wiring has very poor RF
immunity. Now she hears a foreign language AM radio station during
phone calls, on several different types of phones, wired and wireless.
It gets much worse after sunset, to the point that she cannot hear the
other party. She also has problems when the neighbor uses his arc
welder.  She called Verizon to complain, they sent out a tech. The
tech couldn't find the problem and just laughed it off.  Then she
called me for help. I sent her some clamp on ferrite to put on her
phone lines, which helped but didn't fully eliminate the problem.
Verizon took her old copper and now they want to charge her $200 to
reinstall a POTS line.
