With the spectrum hawks I know looking at this, it will be clearly pointed
out.
As I said, the problem doesn't lie with the proposed equipment impacting
our (Part 97 ,74, or 90) operations. It's the reverse. HT's of first
responders operating in the 456-457 band will more likely be the most
obvious concern. QRO RPU (30 watt MARTI into a 7 element yagi for about
200W ERP) at the ground or a full powered mobile unit will also be broght
into to discussion I for one however, would not want to be on a gurney
wearing one of those things in me with an EMT talking on his HT 2 ft. from
the RX/implant. That would be the equivilent of a 100W Marti with a quad
yagi at a distance of 20 ft. aimed right at me.
Base stations emissions will be far less significant. Consider that many
hospital paging systems operate in the 452-454 band segment and are >1KW
ERP systems. Their distances too would diminish the signal level
sufficiently. However, I would not want to be a tech working around them
and have an implant.
It's mobile/portable operations drawing the most attention from everyone
despite the manufacturer's claim of significant RFI protection/rejection
and their not requesting same from the FCC.
