SCOTT,,,
i just installed a brand new BE AM1 transmitter at WPCC.. i just had to go
out and tune the ATU to give a good match of 50j0 back to the transmitter. oh
it just loves the match it feeds into.
you know i could come there and tune you up with no problems, i have plenty
of spare parts. i worked with WILLIAM CULPEPPER on several instances. but you
know i don't think you could pay me. i'm not that expensive but i just don't
think you could or would pay me when i got done.
bill
We have rebuilt our antenna system with better, stronger, wire for the
folded unipole, but the ATU has to be rebuilt. New components are going in and we
are going back with the standard "T" Network.
If we run into problems with the ATU, I'll just break down and buy the
matching network for the BE. I hate the idea of a tube transmittter. I miss
changing the tubes and tune up, but not the heat and the AC bill!
Thanks all for the advice!
