[BC]Amateur Radio Spectrum

It shouldn't be odd. We all use inefficient stuff both
for our hobbies and for work. The whole comment was
about amateur radio needing to get its lobbying act
together because the spectrum allocations as we know
them today are going away. The same is true, but to
a lesser extent, for the current broadcast allocations.
The "lesser extent" is because low frequencies
(40 MHz and below) are of no practical use except
as they are used now, and VHF/UHF/Microwave usage
is well controlled by the stakeholders (the guys
with money). Most everyone is trying to kill the
messenger!

Amateur radio, spectrum, from 50 MHz and on up,
unfortunately is going to be grabbed. They'll
call it "in the public interest," as they always do.

As this happens, not IF this happens, amateur radio
needs a cost effective viable solution to the lost
spectrum space. Hams need to be making this happen
--right about now.

Cheers,

I see it "odd" that participant(s) in private (hobby) flying consider(s)
ham radio to be inefficient. Aircraft radio has 108 MHz to about 138 MHz
assigned to it, mostly used by ancient AM transmissions. (yes, I know
why). There are many who consider private aviation to be a very
inefficient use of airspace and the air traffic control system.
