Seriously, while you might be able to do an upgrade install, I'd 
probably go with

nuke-the-drive and start over.

As to Office 3 and 7 - Well the above would then apply - OpenOffice does 
everything Micro$oft's package does, and at a zillionth of the cost - 
free to download.
