Hi All,
I recently accepted a position at a company whose services I have been
using for more than 4 years. I'm also about to go back on the air as
Phoenix radio talent, but that's another story ( http://www.shander.com ).
:-)
I accepted a position acquiring new accounts and managing them at
Limelight Networks, the content distribution/delivery network (CDN)
company that streamed the Olympics for NBC, the recent presidential
inauguration (several million simultaneous radio and TV streams), and
handles radio, TV and HD content delivery (and file downloads) for
broadcasters.
It's a Tier 1 global private fiber optic network that keeps content off of
the Internet until the closest point to where you're delivering it.
Limelight is connected to 10 Tier 1 networks and more than 900 Access
Networks, where listeners and visitors are connected to the Internet.
It's consistent content delivery at high speeds, including HD streaming
(1.4Mbps). It enables broadcasting to audiences that can scale to the
same numbers as over the air listeners. My show has 50-55,000 listeners
online. It's also become a very good value.
I'm responsible for managing the accounts of radio and TV stations mostly
in the eastern half of the country.
I am available to you to consult or bounce ideas off of with no cost or
obligation at any time. I also have access to white papers and documents
that can help you when you need to prepare budgetary support documents for
projects you may be working on internally. I'm also writing some content
distribution network documents for broadcasters as well.
I'll get in touch with some folks here on the list to send some potential
business your way. I have customers that need your services. It's nice
to be able to send some business back to list members - thanks for sharing
the services (and hardware) you provide.
If you need help with streaming or have any questions, please get in touch
and I'll share whatever resources I have available with you. You can
reach me at mshander at llnw.com .
Regards,
Mark
