[BC] Could our concept of audio be all wrong?

I do occasional sound reinforcement gigs (I have about 5 kw worth of 
amps, and a gazillion speakers, more or less - everything from Klipsch 
Horns on down); and that's been my experience as well - one recent gig, 
I set up with 3 x 100 watts - and never used more than about a watt / 
channel, and thunder-shook the walls... cleanly.

OTOH, no amount of power can make that echo-chamber called a stadium 
sound good.  There was one concert held there (I refer to the new Lucas 
Oil Stadium in Indy) recently that sounded like cacca until someone got 
the bright idea of opening the roof.  Not great, but better...
