[BC] How we got our first break in radio....

Kevin:

I was the engineer who helped put the Knox College station on the air in 
1962. I inherited the job from the former chief at WGIL who moved to Peoria. 
At that time it was in the basement of a girl's dorm and I recall that we 
had to change frequencies because the first time we fired it up we received 
reports from all over Galesburg from people who heard it on Channel 6 TV. We 
spent several interesting weekends in the
basement studio retuning the original transmitter.

And that brings up a question.....did anyone in the group ever know a fellow 
named Frank Pierce who lived in the Quad Cities and did electronic stuff?
