My General Radio Telephone, issued in 1991, was for maritime and
aviation services. It excluded Broadcast facilities.
The FCC inspector, John Glenn of Sierra Vista, AZ, said I needed a
Restricted Operator's Permit and a letter designating me as the Chief
Operator.
The $35 dollar fee was deducted from my next paycheck!

I thought when the original First-Class-morphed-into-General-Class
the FCC eliminated
the requirement for a liscense to maintain transmitting equipment
allowing/requiring
the licensee to determine qualifications.
