[BC] Bad day....

When I was a young engineer my mentor always stressed anticipation and
preparedness. On the day that he retired he said to me, "I have taught you
all that I know. Now, I pass on to you the last bit of advice my mentor
gave to me." He gave me two envelopes, and said "The day will come when
more things break than you can deal with. Your GM and PD will be breathing
fire, and you will be sweating bullets. Don't worry. Open envelope #1, and
follow the directions inside." He was right. The day came when I had
transmitters down at separate sites, and the automation server had just
bricked. The GM and PD were getting the tar and feathers ready. I
retrieved envelope #1, opened it, and read the instructions: "Blame it ALL
on me." I was stunned, but did as instructed, and it bought me enough time
to address all of the problems, and restore order to our little broadcasting
world. Predictably, a similar scenario eventually unfolded, and I didn't
hesitate. I ran to my office, and got envelope #2. I opened it, confident
that the sage advice contained within would again save the day. It said:
"Prepare two envelopes."
