[BC] NAB - Cheap Rooms

$6.25 a night isn't bad if you don't mind driving over 40 miles from
Primm on the California/Nevada boarder on I-15 to the convention center
and then back each day. In traffic, that can be anywhere from 40 minutes
to an hour each way depending on traffic.
I've had reservations through the NAB housing office now for some time
for one room. Since I'll have several of my staff going with me, we've
decided that we'll need a second room (two to a room), so I call
Circus-Circus directly today as the NAB housing office was already close
as they forget there are other time zones besides the East coast. The
first two nights are slightly higher than from the housing office, but
the remainder that I booked directly are very much less. I'm thinking
that I'll cancel through the housing office and go direct as the total
cost will be much less direct. I plan to arrive Friday afternoon, April
17th and depart a week later on Friday in the AM.
Since I have the monster Red Van that is 9 ft. high, I ask for a room in
what they call the Manor across the street and to the back from the main
hotel. Actually access to it is much easier and better than the main
hotel and I've found security is just as good. If I decide not to take
the monster van from the hotel to the convention center, the shuttle bus
picks up at the Manor very close to the rooms I've gotten in the past.
In truth, I picked Circus-Circus (it's by far not the nicest, but it is
clean), because I have found consistently it to be the least expensive
over all through the many years I've gone to NAB and it's not that far
from the convention center. Those in my party who can walk find it a bit
of a jaunt, but for me in my rascal-scooter, it's not too bad.
So if any of you are fortunate and able to go to NAB and you see an old
fat guy in a red scooter, stop me and say hi. :-)
