I worked an AM / FM a long time ago in Florida that SOLD the FM Stereo Proof! We had a sponsor. Our consultant told us there was no rule (1960's) that dictated what time of day you had to do the proof. So we did it mid-afternoon. This was a composite transmitter, so we had to run EVERYTHING. The stereo store loved it (the sponsor) as he scheduled potential customers to come hear how great his systems were. Only problem was we had to announce what we were testing, (ie: left only stereo tones from...... to from....). We also sold the AM sign off to a furniture store pushing how great their mattresses were. "The next 10 hours (or what ever) of quiet are brought to by Mathers' Furniture Store, helping you sleep well tonight on a Beauty-rest mattress"......
